Film

Demons Land is an art film like no other. There are no digital tricks, no special effects, no state of the art animation. Featuring strange denatured sculptures and mesmeric soundscapes, it is one woman’s attempt to build a world from the materials at her disposal – duvets, tights, paint, and her own arts of disguise and transformation – to tell the secret history of her land. In this way our film explores art’s complicity in the dreams and crimes of empire – and of men.

The film exists in two versions.

A 45-minute narrative film (colour | 16:9).

A shuffle film divided into micro-scenes that can be experienced in any order on multiple screens.
